Hello

Experienced

Runner!

You’ve been running for a while—congratulations on that. As you know, it’s not always easy.

The question is, what do you as an experienced runner need a coach for? And is it worth the money? (Sorry, that’s two questions.)

To that I say: You may need a coach for guidance, motivation, information, interaction, and maybe most of all, accountability.

Knowing you’re accountable to a coach can provide a huge and sustaining lift for your running. That change in attitude alone may take your running farther than you thought possible.

Services + 3 Things to Know

Services You'll Receive

When you hire me as your running coach, this is what you get.

Free Consult
A free 60–90 minute phone or video call. We'll discuss your motivations, challenges, and goals—and I'll explain how we'll work together.
Personalized Schedule
A custom training plan built from our consult. I'll send you a draft, then together we'll hone it until it's exactly where you want it.
Unlimited Communication
Unlimited access to your coach—me. Many coaches cap how often athletes can reach out. That seems silly, and ungenerous. You deserve better.
Exclusive Content
Great running content on my website, Substack, Instagram stories, and a weekly email tip. Twenty years as a magazine editor—15 at Runner's World—packed with information and inspiration.
Accountability
Maybe the most important service I offer. You'll grow more accountable to yourself and your running—and we'll be accountable to each other, a powerful motivator.

3 Things to Know

A few things to keep in mind before we lace up.

01
You can run into your 90s and beyond
Sign me up as your coach and we'll set some great goals together—motivating, challenging ones. But my underlying goal is to set you up to run for the rest of your life.
02
You'll discover new things about your running
Working together, you may uncover important running-related insights—ones that could have significant and positive effects on how you run.
03
You may fall in love with running all over again
Maybe it's a new race distance to aim for, or a training technique you've never tried. Either way, it can reignite the whole thing. (I have some ideas.)
